Can anyone tell me if these run "true to size" or small/large?

Thanks!

Hi Faith - I have a girl-sized Samantha meet dress. We got a size 7. My dd is wearing a 6x in most clothes now and I do not think that girl-sized 7 is going to fit her until she is 12! It is currently on loan to an awesome ebay seller who makes matching girl/doll outfits. She made dd a kit's Christmas dress. Did an OUTSTANDING job! I have her info her if you want it. Be sure to email or pm me. If you search ebay with "aunt von" you should find her. I think she has 2 Josefina outfits on now. I don't think Aunt Von is her ebay id - but it is always in her auctions. Anyway. We also have a Kit skirt in size 10 and it is huge also. We have the Kirsten boots and I think those run small. I find that the Bitty Baby stuff seems to run small and the older girl stuff runs large, although dd is currently able to wear the shirts from the GOT line.
If you were talking more about GOT things as opposed to the historical items, sorry for all the extra info!

Oh - and I received your "letter" today. Your things should go out tomorrow. I will email you.

Hi Faith-

DD should be in a small (7/8) based on the size chart on the AG site, but she does wear a medium (10/12) in some other brands. We're going to AGPC tomorrow and we're planning on getting her the girl-sized outfit and PJs so I'll let you know how they run on her. Is there an outfit in particular you're interested in? I could have her try it on for you to see how it runs.

Just let me know!

Cheri

Faith we have the Kit skirt in a 10 and I think it is small. Rachel is quite slim and the skirt is tight.

The sweater set seems about average.

Rachel normally wears a 7-8.

I think it would depend on whether it is the older, historical clothing for girls or the stuff made today. Clothing for children has gotten wider in recent years. I have so much trouble trying to find pants to fit my tall, thin children.

My 12yoDD has the Kit Meet outfit in a 12 and it fits her fine. She is normally a 12 regular or 14 slim. When she tried on the Butterfly Brocade dress, the 10 fit her but was too short. The 12 was a little loose.

My 9yo DD, who is not just slim, she is really skinny, tried on the Licorice Best Friend dress with pretty much the same issues. The size that "fit" her was too short, the size long enough was way too wide.

I was a developing 10 year old when I ordered Kirsten's Summer dress in size large. It fit just fine but I outgrew it after a few times and I really should have ordered the XL for more use Board member MichiganMom makes girl sized outfits to macth the doll outfits. Maybe she can make one to your daughter's measurements to make sure it fits.

If anyone gets the Jess outfit for girls I'd love to hear how it fits. My Daughter is a 10 slim pant and 10/12 top and I'm worried the size that fits her in the waist will be too short and the right length skirt will be too lose in the waist. Look forward to hearing reviews or better yet see pics!! Thanks!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Overall I find that the American Girl clothing for girls runs small...but this is just my experience. I usually buy at least a size larger than I would in other clothing. My experience also is that the clothing is a bit skinnier and longer than other sizes. Again, just our experience. It does vary tho - We have a size M Samantha nightgown that is SO LONG! And other size M clothes (like the Coconut shirt) that barely fit. HTH!
